Kids’ Bike Front Fork Issues and Solutions

A properly shaped front fork is essential for safe riding and correct front wheel installation. If you’re having trouble fitting the front wheel or notice the fork looks bent or uneven, this guide will help you troubleshoot common front fork issues on children’s bikes.

1. Front Fork Is Too Wide or Misaligned

If the fork legs are spread too far apart:

Possible Cause: Pressure during shipping or assembly can cause the fork to open slightly.

Effect: The front wheel cannot be securely installed or may feel loose.

Solution: Gently adjust the fork arms inward until the spacing fits the front wheel axle. Do not force it—refer to our [front fork installation video] for guidance.

2. Front Fork Is Bent or Twisted

If one or both fork legs appear curved or twisted:

Visual Signs: Uneven fork spacing, one leg longer or shorter, wheel sits crooked when installed.

Effect: Difficult or impossible to install the wheel correctly, unsafe for riding.

Solution: A bent fork should not be used. Contact our support team for replacement or further advice.

3. Front Fork Won’t Fit the Front Wheel

Sometimes, the fork dropouts don’t accept the front wheel axle properly:

Check Dropout Shape: Ensure there is no paint blockage, dents, or uneven cuts on the fork ends.

Axle Compatibility: Double-check that the axle fits the fork slot correctly.
